Joe Barna leads his band Sketches Of Influence on a sonic journey through jazz history with his latest release featuring some of New York’s brightest young stars including Stacy Dillard (tenor/soprano) Davis Whitfield (piano) and James Robbins (bass).

From the latin inspired opener A Rose For Pam, to the title track The Purpose and through the closing swinger That’s What She Said, the presence of a connection to the jazz pioneers famous throughout the 1960s can’t be ignored.
